    • The good:
excellent design, highly responsive screen and keys, superb connectivity options, good camera positioning
    • The bad:
HD video recording needs improvement, color noise is quite noticeable in photos
Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 pioneer, Nokia Lumia 800, would not fail you. It has a sleek design which is perfect for professionals. The available colors – black, cyan, and magenta – also speak of how good a choice Nokia Lumia 800 is for the youthful in spirit. The phone undoubtedly has a strong built and scratch-resistant. If scratched however, there are no color peeling issues for it is the polycarbonate itself that is colored. Loaded with amazing features, it measures 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm and weighs 142 g. Nokia Lumia 800 is one best WP7 in the market. The handheld’s touchscreen, a 3.7" AMOLED unit with 480 x 800 WVGA resolution, is highly responsive. Right below the screen are the three staple and equally responsive Windows Phone keys: Back, Menu and Search. The right side of the phone hosts three hardware keys – the volume rocker, the Power/Lock control, and the two-step shutter key. There is no single control on the left side on the other hand. The phone’s loudspeaker is found at the bottom while the 3.5mm audio jack, microSIM compartment, and microUSB port are on top side of the Nokia Lumia 800. The thoughtful positioning of the Carl Zeiss-certified 8MP camera on the back of the handheld makes it more convenient for taking photos. The camera’s user interface is proven to be friendly, with the viewfinder, controls, settings, and images taken easy to spot by the user. Snappers would definitely delight on the phone’s available settings, complete with scenes, effects, flash, a dedicated Macro focus mode, among others. Color noise and occasional lack of details however is noticeable for those who are really into the photography. Also, HD video recording of 720p is just average and its constant refocus every now and then tends to be annoying. Nokia Lumia 800’s connectivity options are complete and commendable. The handheld also provides users with excellent mobile browsing experience with Internet Explorer on Windows Phone updated to the latest version. The positioning of tabs and tools while Internet browsing is also pleasing to the eyes. The phone’s fully-featured Office, business organizer, and a wide range of available apps make it an excellent choice.
